Sunpu Opto Headquarters, Ningbo
Organising research, manufacturing and amenities as one campus.
02Landscape, planning and circulation
The northern river and green belt connect directly to the central garden. North–south and east–west landscape axes link manufacturing, research offices and amenities through one core, two axes and three zones.
Vehicle routes form a perimeter loop, with basement access close to vehicular entrances, freeing the ground for pedestrians. Internal walking routes connect buildings and daily social spaces around the central garden.
03Design and delivery
Four factory buildings and one amenities building support optoelectronic components and smart-sensor research and manufacturing. My work extended from organising the competition design to approvals and construction design support.
I coordinated multidisciplinary tasks, clients and authorities, aligning design requirements, approvals and stage deliverables. An approximately ten-person team helped construction start six months ahead of the original plan. I continued drawing queries, technical discussions and design-change support after leaving the firm. Bidding and scheme design took place in 2022, approvals and development in 2023, construction support in 2023–2025, and completion in 2025.
